About the CELS Archive
The CELS archive consists of documents produced or found during the development of the organization’s activities from its founding to the present day.
The historic archive covers the period from 1979 to 1994, and houses documents linked to the first acts of complaints and documentation of terrorism of the state, legal assistance to the families of victims; and the actions during the transition period. The archive also includes documents produced in part from the promotion and defense of human rights, with subjects such as political violence, and economic social and cultural rights etc.
The current archive brings together documentation produced from 1994; it forms part of the distinct area and work of CELS.
For its historical and legal significance, the CELS archive is registered in UNESCO´s Memory of the World program.
About the Archive of Emilio F. Mignone
The personal archive of Emilio Fermín Mignone is composed of documents produced, preserved or compiled by Emilio Mignone during the majority of his life, which reflect his work and ambition for education and the promotion and defense of human rights. The vast public record of Emilio Mignone in education and his work as a leader in the human rights movement in Argentina make his personal archive a valuable historic source for investigating the debate and reflection of democracy and the forms of authoritarianism in Argentina.
